In 1956, approximately 400 pro-segregationists brandishing weapons and racist signage prevented 12 Black children from entering Mansfield High School to attend classes. The incident occurred in Mansfield, Texas, and represented a violent resistance to school integration following the Brown v. Board of Education decision. The mob successfully blocked the Black students' enrollment, maintaining segregation in the school.
